During this lunch we will learn the ins and outs of applying for Google for Nonprofits status from IT experts Joel Barker and Brian Roemen of BackPack Tactics. The benefits of getting nonprofit status are many, but there are restrictions on who can receive them. Curious about Google+? Want to know how you can drive more traffic to your nonprofit using Google Places? Leave this session understanding how you can use these free products to improve your organization's digital "curb appeal" in Google search listings.

Ben Theis, local Google Partnership Manager, will kick off this with Google Places.

• Did you know that if your nonprofit has a brick and mortar location, you have a Google Places presence already? Did you know that people could be leaving reviews about your organization here without you knowing about it?
• Learn from Ben how you can "claim" your Places account for free, and the positive benefits that even an hour's worth of work on your Places page can have for your nonprofit.

After a tour of Google Places, we'll dive into Google+, Google's answer to Facebook. Because of Google's search supremacy, having a Google+ presence of your nonprofit offers unique advantages.
